Riders who love the Miss Shield love its long visor and show-ring polish. The Equinavia Crown MIPS, One K MIPS CCS Avance Wide Brim, Shires Karben Sonic Marzia Wide Peak and IRH F1 Wide Brim give you that wide brim, and here is how they compare on look, fit and sun coverage, in riders' own words.

The short version
The Equinavia Crown MIPS is the closest wide-brim swap for a Miss Shield 2.0, and the One K MIPS CCS Avance Wide Brim is the one to try if you want to change the look later.

Equinavia helmets
Wow! It’s so inexpensive for what you get. A fraction of the price of my Samshield I need to replace
I got the black and gunmetal, and it is one of the sleekest helmets I have ever owned. The brim is just wide enough to look attractive and be functional without it being overdone.
Shires Karben helmets
I have a shires karben for shows. It's gorgeous and looks like the One K defender. It's super lightweight and comfortable.
One K helmets
I have always had Samshield helmets in the past. Decided to try this helmet as the value is great! At first I was worried about fit but now I actually like it even more than my SamShield!
Riders with long oval heads say the One K wide brim fits really well, and one says the fit matched her earlier One K helmets.
One K wide-brim helmets
Recently purchased the One K wide brim in long oval, and find it to fit really well. I was in a CO before as well.
One K MIPS CCS Avance Wide Brim
I have a wide-brim OneK Long Oval MIPS that I purchased this summer. Absolutely love it. I'd previously had two OneK Long Oval Defenders and found the fit between the MIPS version and my prior helmets to be the same.
Riders call the Crown's built-in visor a great feature, the Avance well ventilated and flattering, the F1 Wide Brim lightweight and breathable, and a Karben comfy without getting hot.
Very comfortable and nice design. Doesn't make my head super sweaty which is a bonus on hot summer days. The built in visor is also a great feature for sun protection.
I have the OneK Avance Wide Brim and like it a lot. To me it seems well-ventilated (granted, I'm in the northeast) and I definitely think it's flattering (I, too, have a fat round face!).
I really love that this helmet has a simple, yet elegant design that can be used while schooling or in the show ring. The Black with Gloss Frame accent (my personal favorite) gives it a little something while still maintaining that classic look. The low profile vents are also a HUGE plus for me - nothing bothers me more than vents that are protruding off of the helmet. These vents make it look bulky. Finish that off with the wide brim for additional sun coverage, and you have yourself a beautifully designed helmet. Aside from its looks, this helmet is SUPER lightweight, breathable, and fits perfectly snug to my head to the point where it almost feels like it's not even there. I also like that IRH provides both a 2mm and 3mm liner so that you can adjust sizing as needed, and not have to spend the extra dollar. Adjustability is key!
Shires Karben helmets
I've got a Shires Karben and it's really comfy, you don't get too hot or sweaty. It's light to wear as well.
Side by side
The Miss Shield 2.0 pairs a long visor with replaceable liners, and each wide-brim helmet we carry gets to the same shade a different way. Every detail here is as the maker lists it.

Price tiers among these picks: $ (lowest) to $$$$ (highest)
| If you wore | Riders switch to | Why riders choose it |

Fit tip
Wrap a soft tape measure about an inch above your eyebrows, then compare front-to-back with ear to ear. If front-to-back is clearly longer, try a long oval shell such as the One K Avance first.Closest look

The Equinavia Crown MIPS is the wide-brim helmet we carry closest to the Miss Shield's profile, with a flexible peak, a chrome-coated frame, a dial fit and MIPS, as Equinavia lists it. Equinavia also lists front, top and rear ventilation slots, a removable, washable memory-foam lining and a quick-release buckle.
The Crown Glossy MIPS puts a glossy shell on the same brim and dial, and the Crown comes in crystal and shimmer finishes for a show-ring sparkle. Riders tell us an Equinavia's dial adjusts for hair up and hair down without catching in their hair.
In fairness
The Miss Shield's long visor is longer than the Crown's brim, so hold the two side by side if visor length is what you love.Equinavia Gardian Riding Helmet
Just love this helmet. Looks great, very comfortable, love that it is adjustable (for hair up and hair down)
Equinavia helmets
This helmet was supposed to fit a slightly more round head shape, and it was suggested to size up to Lg if in-between. And it fits perfect, so happy I got the right helmet on the 1st try! I don't need a shim, the adjustment dial doesn't get caught in my hair.

The One K MIPS CCS Avance Wide Brim pairs a wider brim with MIPS and the CCS color system, and One K makes it in round and long oval shells. One K lists a polycarbonate composite shell, a washable moisture-wicking liner and hook-and-loop adjustment.
The Avance Wide Brim and its Chrome Stripe and Rose Gold Stripe versions keep the brim without MIPS, and the Avance MIPS CCS in Black Gloss adds a glossy finish. One K sells refit liners, so you can fine-tune the fit later, and riders tell us the long oval wide brim fits really well.
In fairness
Samshield builds the Miss Shield around three liner shapes on one shell, so a rider whose head suits those liners may not need a new shell shape at all.I personally find this perfect as I can buy more than one liner and no longer have to deal with the different fit that is caused by wearing my hair up or in a pony…
One K wide-brim helmets
I have a OneK MIPS with a wide brim and a GPA wide brim. I think the OneK makes me look slightly less like a Lego construction worker.

The Shires Karben Sonic Marzia Wide Peak is the lowest-tier wide brim on this page, with a matte finish, a leather-textured crown and a fixed, flexible peak that extends around the side of the helmet. Shires Karben lists an adjustable dial fit, a four-point harness and a Cooldry headband.
The Sonic Silvia Wide Peak shares the wide peak and dial, and the Sonic Alessa Wide Brim Crystal Finish adds sparkle at the crown for riders who loved a crystal Miss Shield. Riders tell us a Karben is light, comfortable and stays cool.
In fairness
No Karben matches the Miss Shield's Alcantara or crystal range, so treat the Alessa as a show-ring sparkle, not a custom piece.Shires Karben Sonic Marzia Wide Peak
This is a fantastic option for a budget helmet that's still stylish but won't break the bank! The details make it look more expensive, and I love the wide brim. I have an oval head shape and this model fits me perfectly. You really can't beat it for the price!
Shires Karben Matteo Riding Helmet
The ventilation is no joke. My head stayed cool even while the rest of me was melting into the desert.

The IRH F1 Wide Brim gives the most shade on this page by IRH's own description, covering the whole face and the upper neck, and it comes with 2mm and 3mm liners to fine-tune the fit. The Crown, Avance and Sonic Marzia all add sun coverage through the brim too.
For a One K you already own, the Klick n Go Sunshield adds magnetic click-in sunglasses that fit over most prescription glasses and come with a zippered case. Check that your One K helmet is Klick n Go compatible before you order.

Shade is the reason many riders chose the Miss Shield, so compare brim depth in person before you switch.IRH helmets
Downgrading from my Charles Owen because I wanted something affordable, light, and that had a larger visor. Love the fit and style of this helmet. Very flattering.
One K helmets
I loved my Samshield but when I retired it, I got a One K Defender with MIPS. It fits great and they have a sun visor option.

The Miss Shield is the long-visor show helmet many riders picture first, and its strengths are real: a distinctive profile, premium finishes and a liner system built around head shape.
If you want an Alcantara shell or Swarovski crystal trim, Samshield's finishes go further than any wide brim we carry.
If the Miss Shield's long visor is the look you love, no brim here is quite the same length.
If your head suits Samshield's Round, Shadow or Premium liners, replaceable liners keep a Miss Shield fitting as your hair changes.
If you want the maker's Restart service, Samshield offers it on the Miss Shield 2.0.
For the wide-brim look, try the Equinavia Crown MIPS, the One K MIPS CCS Avance Wide Brim, the Shires Karben Sonic Marzia Wide Peak and the IRH F1 Wide Brim.
