The Skylar has a ponytail cut-out, and both Equinavia helmets use an easy-adjust dial.
See the Equinavia picksFit is personal: one rider found a KASK too round, another says it didn't fit her head at all.
KASK fit by head shape
Kask was too round for me - too bad because they're beautiful. Also, I've heard the head cupping thing is removable.
KASK fit by head shape
Helmet fit to head is a big factor in my decision making. I wanted a KASK but they don't fit my head at all.
One rider found her newer Star Lady much snugger in the same size, and an IRH rider says hers fits with her hair up or down.
KASK Star Lady sizing
I wore a 56 in my old star lady and the new star lady feels incredibly snug.
IRH helmets
My helmet fits with my hair up and down, I tried it with my hair up, and again IT DOES fit me with my hair down

Fit tip
Start with what you liked about your KASK, then measure: wrap a soft tape around your head about an inch above your eyebrows and size to the new maker's chart, not your KASK size. Between two sizes, Trauma Void suggests the larger.Closest match

Trauma Void's Lynx Smooth Top and EQ3 NEOZ are the helmets to try in place of a Star Lady: both have a clean, low show profile, a dial or wheel fit at the back, a removable, washable Coolmax liner and MIPS, as Trauma Void lists them.
The Lynx Smooth Top has a round fit in small, medium and large, vents front and back, and weighs 600 grams by Trauma Void's listing. The EQ3 NEOZ adds a one-handed magnetic fastener, and Trauma Void lists it as SEI ASTM F1163-23 certified.
In fairness
Trauma Void designs the Lynx for rounder heads. If a KASK felt too round for you, start with the Pardus or IRH XLT in the swap guide.Trauma Void helmets
I have a Kask that I like and fits well, then I tried the TraumaVoids – both the EQ3 and Lynx. Both fit very well, but I prefer the Lynx. It is lower profile and seems to wrap around more.
I've got a very round head and the Trauma Void EQ3 fits me super well. It's quite comfortable. It does have a washable liner and comes in navy!
I have a Trauma Void Lynx and it’s the MOST comfortable helmet I’ve ever had (CO always fit me well too).
Trauma Void Lynx. If they ever stop selling them I will cry. A lot.

The Trauma Void Lynx Eventing Skull is the cross-country helmet to try in place of a Dogma XC: Trauma Void lists MIPS and a visor-free design with no protruding shapes, plus dual ventilation and a washable Coolmax liner.
The skull has lacing at the base of the head for fit and stability. Trauma Void designs the Lynx for a rounder head and suggests the larger size when you are between two.

A skull has no peak. If you want a brim for the sun, the wide-brim helmets below are the better fit.Everyday riding
Equinavia's Gardian and Skylar are the helmets to try in place of a Kooki or Kooki Lady: each is a lightweight, low-profile helmet with an easy-adjust dial and a removable, washable Coolmax liner, and Equinavia lists both as ASTM F1163-23/SEI certified.
The Skylar adds a ponytail cut-out and a removable breakaway peak. The TuffRider Carbon Fiber pairs a carbon fiber shell with an adjustable dial, and TuffRider lists it as SEI certified.
In fairness
The Gardian and Skylar sit a few price tiers below a KASK. Choose them for the dial fit and the value rather than the Italian styling. This helmet is comfortable and easily adjustable. It's a great helmet for a lesson program and beginner
Just love this helmet. Looks great, very comfortable, love that it is adjustable (for hair up and hair down)

The Equinavia Crown MIPS is the wide-brim helmet to try if you loved the clean hunter profile of a Star Lady Hunter: it has a wide brim, a chrome-coated frame with front, top and rear vents, a dial-adjustable fit and MIPS, and Equinavia lists ASTM F1163-23/SEI and CE EN 1384:2023 certification.
The IRH F1 Wide Brim comes with two liner thicknesses to tune the fit, and the One K MIPS CCS Avance Wide Brim pairs a wider brim with MIPS and One K's CCS color system.
In fairness
The Crown sits a price tier or two below the IRH F1 and the One K, so it is the place to start if the look matters more than the maker.I got the black and gunmetal, and it is one of the sleekest helmets I have ever owned. The brim is just wide enough to look attractive and be functional without it being overdone.
I’ve just bought the Equinavia crown MIPS helmet and love it for my large and very oval head.

Riders who wear a KASK often have good reasons, and some of them are worth keeping in mind as you shop.
If you love a clean wide-brim hunter profile, the Star Lady Hunter is built around it, and one rider calls KASK helmets beautiful.
If you want an exact size, KASK lists the Star Lady Hunter in 13 sizes from 51 to 63 cm, with merino wool padding and click-in liners that wash and swap.
If you ride cross-country, KASK lists the Dogma XC at 520 g.
The Trauma Void Lynx Smooth Top and EQ3 NEOZ are the closest match for the low, clean show profile, with dial or wheel fits and washable liners. For the wide brim, try the Equinavia Crown MIPS. Measure your head, then try your two favorites on.
CloseThe Equinavia Gardian and Skylar and the TuffRider Carbon Fiber are light everyday helmets with a dial fit and a removable liner, at a much lower price tier. Try the one nearest your head shape.
CloseThe Equinavia Crown MIPS, the IRH F1 Wide Brim and the One K MIPS CCS Avance Wide Brim all have a wide brim and a clean profile, at three price tiers.
CloseLook for a dial fit or liners you can swap. The Equinavia Skylar has a ponytail cut-out and an easy-adjust dial, and riders say the Gardian adjusts for hair up or down. Try any helmet on with your hair the way you ride, and check it sits level and snug.
CloseTrauma Void lists MIPS on the Lynx Smooth Top, EQ3 NEOZ and Lynx Eventing Skull, Equinavia lists it on the Crown MIPS, and One K offers it on the MIPS CCS Avance Wide Brim. Check each product page for its features.
CloseMeasure around your head about an inch above your eyebrows and size to the new maker's chart, because brands size differently. Then compare front-to-back with ear-to-ear: nearly equal points to a rounder shell, longer front-to-back to a long oval one.
