A Close Contact Saddle for Every Stage, From First Pony to Big Jumper
The Pony saddle has its own tree and panels made to fit ponies, with a narrow twist so small riders can hold their position. The Junior is the next step up: the same tree with a flocked panel, in several flap and seat sizes, so it can move with a child from large ponies to horses.
For adults, the Gen X3 is our best-selling Pessoa, with grippy covered leather and memory foam panels. The Elita II adds single leather and wool flocking, and the Legend Valentino is built on Pessoa's carbon fiber Legend tree.

The PRO wide noseband bridle is our best seller: soft full grain leather, fancy white stitching and a padded, contoured Comfort Crown that spreads pressure across the poll. It also comes with a raised or tapered noseband and as a figure 8.

Who is Pessoa named after?
Nelson "Neco" Pessoa, the Brazilian show jumper who won the 1966 European Championship and rode in three Olympic Games. According to US Equestrian, he conceived and designed the original Pessoa saddle.
What is the Pessoa X-Change system?
An exchangeable gullet plate. With a screwdriver you can swap the plate to make the saddle's tree wider or narrower. The plates fit Pessoa XCH saddles, which come with a medium plate installed.
What's the difference between the Pessoa Pony and Junior saddles?
The Pony saddle has a tree and panels made for ponies. The Junior uses the same tree with a flocked panel and comes in more flap and seat sizes, so it can carry a growing rider from large ponies onto horses.
What leather are Pessoa PRO bridles made from?
Wickett & Craig leather with a natural finish that takes oil, so you can darken it to the shade you want. The Rodrigo line is hand-finished American leather.
What is the Pessoa Lunging System?
A set of ropes, clips and pulleys with a breeching strap behind the hindquarters, used with a training surcingle. It was invented by Nelson Pessoa, and Pessoa says it is designed to encourage balance and build the topline.

About the Brand
Pessoa: Tack Named for Brazil's Show Jumping Great
Nelson "Neco" Pessoa is a Brazilian show jumper who won the 1966 European Championship and rode in the Olympic Games in 1956, 1964 and 1992, when, at 56, he was the oldest equestrian in Barcelona.
US Equestrian credits him with conceiving and designing the original Pessoa saddle. Argentine saddle maker Ruiz Diaz began making saddles for him in the early 1990s, and today the line runs from saddles and show bridles to martingales, leathers and the lunging system he invented.
