The Motion Lite is our best-selling Alessandro Albanese piece: no lining, a hidden zip front, and interchangeable buttons so one coat works across disciplines. It won an International Innovation Award in 2016, and it goes in the washing machine.

There is a Kids' Motion Lite cut from the same design, and men have the Motion Lite and the Motion Flex, its tailored brother with four-way stretch and a half lining.

Alessandro Albanese show shirts: Porto, Aurora and CleanCool

The Porto has a mesh bib at the front, no shoulder seams to rub, and a magnet that closes the collar in one move. The Aurora is a classic long sleeve in a soft, quick-drying stretch fabric, and the CleanCool Fresh adds an antibacterial finish and a full zip front.

For hot days, the Houston short sleeve shirt opens at the collar, so it doubles as a polo after your class. Men's shirts include the Dubai short sleeve polo.

The Athens knee patch breech is made in Italy from performance Schoeller fabric, with reinforced knees, shape-control seams in the seat and a sock-style ankle that lies flat under your boots. Riders who want a knee patch breech built for show days start here.

Alessandro Albanese saddle pads and ear nets to match your show coat

The Performance pads have a satin top, AA branding in gunmetal and breathable 3D spacer mesh underneath, with D-ring tabs and a girth strap to hold them in place. They're lightly cushioned.

Alessandro Albanese designs the pads to coordinate with the Motion Lite show coat colors, and the crochet ear nets match too, so horse and rider go into the ring as a set.

The Nivia is our best-selling AA winter coat: a ripstop and jacquard outer with the AA monogram, water and wind resistant, with a hood and faux fur trim that both come off.

The Platinum Tights have a silicone grip on the leg, a high waistband with power mesh to spread the pressure around your lower back, and a phone pocket. The Bina adds a silicone full seat and a perforated lower leg that stays cool under tall boots, with a kids' version too.

Who makes Alessandro Albanese?

Alessandro Albanese is part of the Horseware Ireland family of brands, alongside Horseware, Rambo and Amigo. The brand began with Italian designer Alessandro Albanese, who showed his first riding coats at the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome.

What is the Motion Lite show coat?

AA's best-known coat: light, with no lining, a hidden zip front and interchangeable buttons so one coat works across disciplines. It won an International Innovation Award in 2016 and is machine washable.

Can I wash an Alessandro Albanese show coat?

The Motion Lite and Motion Flex are machine washable. The TechnoReady, made with wool and cotton, is dry clean only. Always check the care label first.

About the Brand

Alessandro Albanese: Italian Show Apparel, Now Part of the Horseware Family

Alessandro Albanese grew up in Turin, the son of a tailor. In 1998 he showed his first riding coats at the World Equestrian Games in Rome, setting out to make an Italian, tailored coat for the show ring.

Today the brand is part of the Horseware Ireland family, and the range runs from the Motion Lite show coat, winner of an International Innovation Award in 2016, to show shirts, breeches, winter coats and saddle pads in matching colors.

The Motion Lite is the Alessandro Albanese piece our customers buy most, and the matching pads let them turn horse and rider out as a set for the ring.
