Show Attire
Formal Attire calls for scarlet or dark coats and a white shirt with a white stock (HU107.3). In jumper classes, Proper Jumper Attire requires a coat of any color and a tie or choker of any color (JP111.11b).
RJ Classics builds its Men's Cooper Show Coat in high-stretch fabric with removable cuffs and number holes on the back, and Alessandro Albanese makes its Men's Motion Lite Competition Jacket unlined, with a hidden zip and interchangeable buttons.
Tredstep gives its Men's Solo Sport Coat four buttons and a double vent for lower-level dressage and jumping, and LeMieux designs the collar of its Men's Long Sleeve Show Shirt to support your tie, with a tie loop.

TuffRider Men's Dennison Short Sleeve Show Shirt
It’s so hard to find men’s riding clothes. We bought the same shirt 3 years ago and he literally wore it out. Great product!
TuffRider Men's Ribb Patrol Knee Patch Breeches
This is my 3rd pair of these breeches and I wouldn't consider any other kind. They fit well and wear extremely well.

Helmets & Gloves
Our riding helmets are listed as Unisex, so this edit shows adult helmets in black, navy and brown from Troxel, LeMieux, Veredus and Trauma Void, for English and Western riding.
Troxel adjusts its Spirit helmet with a DialFit system and gives it a FlexVisor, and its Dakota trail helmet adds an extended sun visor. LeMieux fits its Verv Competition Helmet with a 360 wrap fit system and a rear control wheel.
Roeckl says its Roeck-Grip gloves fit like a second skin, with grip on the reins. At USEF dressage tests at Fourth Level and below, any solid color of glove is permitted (DR120.1.7).
What Riders Say
On helmets and gloves
My primary interest is trails, obstacle courses, and gaming. I love the low profile fit. I just wore it for a weekend clinic, and the fit was great. No headaches! In fact - I didn't think about my helmet any, which is how you want it to be.
On a two-hour ride I had no issues with the headgear whether going up or down hills. I love this helmet, by the end of the ride I felt like I was wearing a baseball cap with a chinstrap.

Questions riders ask
A show shirt is the collared shirt worn under a show coat. In USEF hunter and equitation classes, shirts must have a choker, similar collar or tie, and when management lets riders show without jackets, riders wear traditional short- or long-sleeved riding shirts with chokers or ties; polo shirts are not permitted except in unjudged warm-up classes (HU107.2 and .4, EQ106.2 and .4, 2026). RJ Classics gives its Men's Tyler Show Shirt a crisp collar and a tie bar.
A stock tie, or stock, is a neckpiece worn with a show shirt; RJ Classics and Shires Aubrion both make theirs pre-tied. USEF hunter rules require a choker, similar collar or tie, and Formal Attire calls for a white shirt with a white stock (HU107.2–3, 2026). In jumper classes, Proper Jumper Attire requires a tie or choker of any color, and Formal Jumper Attire a white tie, choker or hunting stock (JP111.11). Dressage rules accept a tie, choker, stock tie or integrated stand-up collar (DR120.1.5).
The rules allow either. USEF hunter rules encourage conventional attire following the tradition of fox hunting and require scarlet or dark coats for Formal Attire (HU107.2–3, 2026). Formal Jumper Attire requires dark, muted or similar colored, or red coats, and Proper Jumper Attire a coat of any color (JP111.11). Dressage permits any single-color jacket (DR120.1.2). Our men's show coats include black and navy styles from RJ Classics, Alessandro Albanese, Ovation and LeMieux.
In dressage, any single-color jacket is permitted and may have subtle pin striping, checks or tweeds, while striped or multicolored coats are not (DR120.1.2, 2026). In jumper classes, Proper Jumper Attire requires a coat of any color (JP111.11b). In hunter classes, conventional attire is encouraged and preferred, and judges shall not eliminate a rider for unconventional attire except for safety (HU107.2). RJ Classics makes its Men's Charlie Tweed Hunt Coat in wool and calls it a classic cubbing jacket.
A shadbelly is a tailcoat, a riding coat with long tails. Under USEF dressage rules, a tailcoat is permitted in all classes above Fourth Level, in the FEI test for 7-year-old horses and in tests for FEI Juniors, while a short riding jacket or a cutaway coat with short tails is permitted at any level (DR120.1.2, 2026). Alessandro Albanese makes the Men's Platinum MotionLite Shadbelly.
Check the prize list. Under USEF dressage rules, only riders in Level 1 competitions or Opportunity classes are not required to wear a jacket, and management may waive jackets in heat (DR120.1.2 and DR120.2, 2026). In hunter and equitation classes, when management permits riding without jackets, riders wear traditional riding shirts with chokers or ties (HU107.4, EQ106.4). For schooling, it's your choice or your trainer's.
In USEF hunter and equitation classes, breeches may be buff, canary, tan, rust or white (HU107.2, EQ106.2, 2026). In jumper classes, Proper Jumper Attire calls for light breeches (white, fawn or canary) and Standard Jumper Attire permits any color (JP111.11). The dressage attire booklet permits white, light or dark breeches, but not bright colors or patterns (DR120.1.4).
It means the helmet meets a published testing standard. USEF dressage rules require protective headgear that complies with the accepted testing standards published on the Federation's website and carries the applicable testing tag or label (DR120.1.1, 2026). Makers list the standard on the product page: Troxel lists its Sport 2.0 Helmet as ASTM-SEI certified.
Mips stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System. One K says it is designed to add protection against rotational motion transmitted to the brain from angled impacts, and Troxel describes it as a lightweight, low-friction layer inside the helmet. Among our adult helmets, the One K MIPS CCS and the Troxel Terrain Mips include it.
At USEF dressage tests at Fourth Level and below, white or light-colored gloves are recommended and any solid color is permitted; at FEI levels, gloves are required and must be white, off white or the same color as the coat (DR120.1.7, 2026). For schooling and lessons, it's your choice or your trainer's. Heritage makes its Pro-Comp Show Gloves with a Cabretta leather palm and rein-cut fingers.
Glove sizes differ by brand, so start with the size chart on the product page. Roeckl says its Roeck-Grip gloves fit like a second skin for a close contact feel. Our men's and unisex gloves run in numbered sizes from 6 to 12 and in letter sizes from XS to XL; choose yours in Find Your Fit above.
