Weaver tack riders reach for first
Halters, leads and cinches western riders use every day
Riders tell us Weaver tack feels right in the hand and holds up: heavy, soft reins, halters with hardware that has some weight to it, and a cinch buckle that rolls smooth.
Weaver halter and matching lead rope
I LOVE this halter and matching lead rope. Beautiful color and it is heavyweight with nice hardware that has just the right feel to it! It will definitely last a long time!
WEAVER always shines, great feel and weight of these reins, and super soft on the hands......
Difficult to find black leather western tack. This bridle not only looks good, it fits well, and is of great quality.
I've found the Weaver Smart Cinch buckle helpful for my sensitive horse. The roller action is very smooth, and I can tighten the cinch in small increments as it doesn't back off. The felt in this cinch is good quality, and not bulky.
The Weaver Edit

Halters & leads
The Weaver Padded Breakaway Adjustable Halter is the everyday turnout pick: polypropylene with PVC-coated foam padding at the nose and crown, a flat throat and a breakaway fuse held by chicago screws, so it is easy to replace. For groundwork, the Silvertip Four Knot Rope Halter is hand-tied in one piece from pre-stretched 1/4 in accessory cord, with two extra knots on the noseband to sharpen the horse's response. The Kalley Krickeberg Horseman's Halter sits between the two: nylon webbing with a knotted rope nose, chin and jowl, a sliding ring that travels 180 degrees for lunging, and a side ring for more control on a horse that pushes or drags.
Pair the halter with a 10 ft lead. The Poly Lead Rope with Solid Brass Snap measures 5/8 in x 10 ft with heat-sealed ends and a non-rust 225 snap, and Weaver runs its poly leads in colors meant to pair with its halters. Riders who want a softer rope choose the 10ft Cotton Lead Rope with Nickel Plated Chain, which adds a 24 in chain. Look elsewhere if you want a leather show halter: these are working halters, with the whole range under Weaver Halters and Leads.
What Riders Say
Weaver Kalley Krickeberg Horseman's Halter
I have always used a rope halter with my Fjord. Fjords are very strong and can dive to the ground for a bite of grass, which is not great for my shoulders. I bought the Hybrid halter with the side pull ring. What a game changer, I absolutely love it! I have so much more control.
I love the choice of the colors of the Weaver lead ropes. We like our tack to have matching colors when we attend shows. Helps identify our things and makes our team stand out. You can choose a number of different color patterns to go with your current color scheme. The ropes are soft on the hands, strong, and easy to tie and lead with. And the colors stay true.
This halter does it all. It is very well made and so much easier than a regular rope halter and the convenience of a regular halter makes it the perfect halter.
This is a great lead rope! It is very soft on your hands, yet very sturdy. I have left this rope hanging on the tie rack in full sunlight and it is still soft, supple and colorful; the brown has stayed dark despite leaving it in the sun. The 10 ft length is great is case you want to lunge your horse in a circle or send them over obstacles. Overall, this is a great lead rope. I would recommend this! :)

Saddle pads
The 1" Synergy Contour Merino Wool Felt Performance Saddle Pad uses F1-rated pure merino felt with a 21 PSI compression rating and 500 PSI tensile strength, so the felt keeps its body under a heavy saddle and wicks sweat off the back. The 3/4" Synergy Deep Contour pad measures 31 in x 32 in and adds an expanded wither cut-out for a high-withered horse or a saddle that sits close.
Barrel racers go to the All Purpose Contoured Barrel Saddle Pad: extra felt layers raise the saddle off the withers, the underside is merino wool fleece, and the Herculon top is water repellent and wipes clean. To add cushion under a pad you already own, the 1/2" Contoured Felt Liner has spine cutouts for a closer fit. Measure the saddle's skirt and rigging before you choose a length: a saddle whose rigging hangs low needs a pad that runs longer in front. Look elsewhere if you ride English, because Weaver Saddle Pads are cut for western saddles.
What Riders Say
This pad is exactly what I wanted. Correct dimensions and high density material that does not compress. The leathers are well-stitched, and the pad has a feel of structure and body. 1" thickness was the right choice. The pad also has a great sweat-wicking quality.
I have a new Tucker saddle and didn’t realize the riggings on the cinch would hang lower and go beyond regular saddle blankets/pads. This is longer in the front works great.
Weaver straps on a western saddle
I just bought a second one of these but I don't use them for bucket straps... I have a western endurance saddle and I'm really short so the fenders are so short they won't stay out of the way when I'm cinching up. I loop this around the pommel and through the stirrup to keep it up outta the way. Perfect!
Very pretty and great quality. It is true horse size and very adjustable. I do prefer a narrower width, but I still like it. Weaver has great products.

Cinches
Weaver Leather began in 1973 and introduced the Smart Cinch in 2001, and that roller buckle still sets its cinches apart. The AirFlex Straight Cinch with Merino Wool Fleece Liner and Roll Snug Buckle pairs two stainless steel rollers with white cool flex foam that does not absorb heat, molded airflow channels and a 100% merino fleece liner. The rollers let you tighten in small steps without the latigo backing off. A Weaver roller-buckle cinch makes cinching up easier, and a quick rinse after a ride keeps the cinch in good shape.
For natural fiber, the 100% Mohair 27-Strand Straight Cinch is handcrafted in Holmes County, Ohio. It stretches to fit, returns to its size and cleans with a shake and a brush. The 100% Alpaca Straight Flat Cinch is woven in the USA with tallow-stuffed harness leather, and Weaver recommends it for horses with sensitive skin. The Neoprene Straight Cinch sheds dirt and hoses off. Look elsewhere if you ride long days in heat: Weaver notes neoprene holds heat more than natural fibers. See every Weaver cinch.
What Riders Say
This is the best cinch ever! I have had mine for almost a year and it still looks like new. They are soft but durable. I rinse mine off after every ride and it stays in great condition. The roller on the buckle makes it easy to tighten the cinch. I would recommend this to any western rider. :)
You can't beat how easy it is to hose off or wipe this clean. Definitely a good option if cinching up is hard for you. Neoprene isn't for everyone, but this is a great option in this material.
The Weaver Smart Cinch is awesome. Makes it easier to tighten cinch, and the mohair keeps my mule comfortable.
I purchased the smart cinch to use with my Cashel treeless saddle and thought it would be a bit technical. It comes with a large label with directions clearly printed on it to you can get started right away. It fits beautifully and is easily adjustable from a mounted position too! Highly recommend this cinch! Not sure how I managed previously!! The neoprene lining is comfortable and doesn't pinch my horse and its really easy to clean!

Headstalls & reins
For everyday riding, the 5/8" Harness Leather Browband Headstall is golden brown harness leather with a double-ply browband, buckles at both cheeks and latigo ties at the bit ends for quick bit changes. The Synergy Latigo Heavy Harness Split Reins are cut from Hermann Oak harness leather and hand rubbed with saddle butter, so they arrive with a broken-in feel and get better with use. Riders tell us Weaver reins have a good weight and feel soft in the hand from the first ride.
For a dressier look, the Basin Cowboy Split Reins are 5/8 in x 8 ft English bridle leather with an embossed basketweave and floral conchos, made to match the Basin Cowboy headstalls and breast collars. The Turquoise Cross Turquoise Beaded 5/8" Browband Headstall adds carved florals and turquoise beaded inlays on dark-oiled leather. Finish the set with Weaver breast collars, or shop all Weaver Bridles and Reins.
What Riders Say
These reins are excellent quality, good weight leather, and fine stitching. Oiled and soft right out of the box. They have a very nice feel.
These reins are exactly what I needed! Soft and easy in my hands. The perfect length.
I love the flexibility and softness of these reins. They are incredibly easy to maneuver. Highly recommend!
I really like the design and style of these spur straps. They feel well made and the leather is soft. Lots of adjustment to help my spurs sit higher or lower on my boot depending on the horse. Would definitely buy again.

Horse boots
The Weaver No Turn Bell Boots wrap the bulb of the front hoof in 2520D ballistic material lined with neoprene, close with double-ply hook and loop, and are sold as a pair. Weaver designs them for horses that overreach with the hind feet. The bulb on the inside keeps the boot from turning, so the closure stays where you put it. Weaver boots are cut to stay where they belong on the leg without rubbing.
The Prodigy F3 Sport Boots 4 Pack are Weaver's newest sport boots: a Dynamic Sling System under the fetlock, SuperFabric armor zones where a horse strikes itself, and 4-way stretch neoprene for airflow. The Prodigy Original Sport Boots use shock-absorbing EVA foam with a neoprene liner and darted edges that keep dirt out, sold as a pair. Look elsewhere if you need open-front jumping boots for the hunter ring. Browse all Weaver Horse Boots.
What Riders Say
My farrier suggested I turn my horse out in bell boots since he seems to have a talent for throwing shoes, especially during mud season. I was a little worried because the one time I rode him in velcro bell boots without a fleece lining they rubbed him raw. However that has not been an issue with these Weavers. They have enough stretch that I can get them on or off without too much difficulty; I flip them inside out and pull them on upside down.
Was looking for some time to find a good set of shipping boots, and these are it. Great fit, padding, material and definitely the Velcro. No sliding either.
These wraps are convenient. You wet them & stick them in the freezer for 15-20 min and wrap the legs. Just as easy as the ice boots!
Quality was exactly as expected. I really like the hard bottom around the hooves. They are a little large.

Trail gear
The Trail Gear Saddle Bag has two padded main compartments, one with an insulated insert for food and drinks, plus small pockets for a phone and keys and reflective piping for low light. The Trail Gear Pommel Bag is the compact version, with a padded main compartment and mesh side pockets for a water bottle. Both secure with hook and loop straps and quick-release buckles. More options are under Weaver Saddles and Accessories.
For stops on the trail, the Nylon Hobbles are 1 in adjustable nylon, doubled and stitched, with brass plated hardware. At the trailer, the Bungee Trailer Tie gives a horse that panics when tied some stretch: 1/2 in x 23 in bungee with a bull snap on one end and a panic snap on the other. What Riders Say
Second one I have purchased. Easy to put on the saddle, doesn't bounce, and fits a phone, hoof pick, pocket knife, and maybe a snack or two, easily. Cute design, too!
These are very nice reins. I use them for trail rides and they are the perfect length for letting your horse get a drink of water or just letting them have their head low when you're walking. They are comfortable to hold in one hand or both. I would recommend these to any trail rider. :)
Weaver hay bags are a very good size. They hold several flakes of hay, and I love the ring on the back so I can secure the bag down to prevent it from flipping around backwards. I can't use hay nets or slow feed bags for my goats (horn and leg entrapment), so I use this style of hay bag for both horses and goats. They're sturdy and usually last quite a while.
I like to use these hay bags in & out of the trailer. The mesh sides allow for any moisture to dry if your hay gets rained on while on the road. The large hole for horses to eat from is nice too.

Questions riders ask
Weaver is mostly western. Its saddle pads, cinches, headstalls, split reins and breast collars are cut for western saddles and ranch work, while its halters, lead ropes, bell boots and barn gear suit any horse. If you ride English, start with the halters, leads and No Turn Bell Boots, and shop a saddle pad cut for your saddle.
Weaver sizes halters by head type, not by inches. Average Horse fits most saddle horses; choose Arabian/Cob for a finer head, Large Horse for a big warmblood or draft cross, and Draft for heavy horses. Check the fit with two fingers under the noseband and the nose band sitting about two fingers below the cheekbone, then adjust at the crown.
The Roll Snug Buckle is Weaver's patented two-roller cinch buckle, the successor to the Smart Cinch that Weaver introduced in 2001. The stainless steel rollers let the latigo glide as you tighten, so you can snug the cinch in small steps and it does not back off. Choose an AirFlex cinch with the Roll Snug Buckle if cinching up is hard on your hands.
Brush felt and merino pads once they are dry, and lift hair with a stiff brush or shedding block. Shake and brush a mohair cinch to remove dust and dirt. A neoprene cinch hoses off, and its liner on some models detaches for washing. Rinse the cinch after a sweaty ride, then hang everything to dry before you tack up again.
