    The Lincoln Edit

Lincoln covers the coat, the tack and the hooves

Five short sections walk through Lincoln leather care, grooming, hoof and first-aid products, pack sizes and who each part of the line suits.

    Lincoln Heritage Leather Cream

    Leather care

Lincoln leather cream and balsam that keep tack supple

Lincoln Heritage Leather Cream is the all-in-one pick: Lincoln describes it as a complete treatment that cleans, restores, polishes and beautifies leather tack, built on natural waxes blended with Lanolin. If you want one tin for a weekly wipe-down, start here.

Lincoln Superior Leather Balsam goes deeper on conditioning. Lincoln lists refined Beeswax, Lanolin and Avocado Oil in the formula, says it replenishes natural oils and waxes, and packs an application sponge in the tub. Classic Leather Dressing takes a different route: a water-resistant, Lanolin-enhanced dressing that Lincoln says forms a barrier so mud and sweat wipe off more easily.

For daily cleaning, Total Tack contains glycerine and needs no water, per Lincoln, and the Tack Sponge is designed to clean leather without scratching. Lincoln Neatsfoot Oil is for old, dry leather, and Lincoln says it stays liquid in cold temperatures. Look elsewhere if your tack is suede or synthetic, since these formulas are made for leather.

      Lincoln Liniment Shampoo

      Grooming

Lincoln shampoos and polish for a clean, tangle-free coat

Lincoln Liniment Shampoo is a shampoo and liniment in one. Lincoln says it cuts through sweat, grease and grime and contains pure Rosemary oil, which makes it a post-ride wash for horses that have worked hard. Revitalising Wash comes in a 4-liter size and adds Tea Tree Extract, which Lincoln lists for mild antibacterial action.

For the finish, Silky Shine Hair Polish and Detangler brings Pro Vitamin B5 and Silk Proteins and a non-greasy formula that Lincoln says repels dust and dirt, while Piaffe Mane & Tail Conditioner is a spray made for coarse manes and tails. Total Groom cleans without water, per Lincoln, which suits a quick tidy before you tack up.

Skin-focused washes are separate: Itchy Switchy SOS Shampoo is silicone free with no added fragrances, and Medicated Shampoo is billed by Lincoln as an antibacterial wash. Look elsewhere if you need a fragranced, conditioning-heavy bath, because the SOS formula is deliberately plain. Persistent itching or skin lesions are a call to your vet.

Lincoln Eucalyptus Hoof & Sole Dressing

        Hoof and first aid

Lincoln hoof dressings and first aid for wet, muddy barns

Lincoln Classic Hoof Ointment is a traditional-style ointment that Lincoln says supports horn growth and suits black or white hooves. Eucalyptus Hoof & Sole Dressing is the antifungal, moisture-regulating option in the line, fortified with Eucalyptus and Wheatgerm Oil, and Lincoln notes it for barefoot horses as well as shod ones. Intensive Hoof Moisturiser is made for dry, brittle hooves, with Keratin Amino Acids and Glycerine listed on the label.

The wet-weather end of the shelf is practical. Muddy Buddy Ointment is a 500g sulphur ointment that Lincoln designs as a waterproof barrier for heels and lower legs in mud, and Cool Gel is a camphor and menthol gel for legs after hard work, which also dilutes as a refreshing wash.

On the first-aid side, Iodine Solution is a 250ml antiseptic spray that Lincoln labels for minor wounds, abrasions, bites and stings, and Equocrem is a zinc oxide first-aid cream for minor wounds and irritated skin. Look elsewhere if the problem is a deep wound, heat or lameness: those are jobs for your vet, not a tub from the tack room.

          Lincoln Neatsfoot Oil Compound

          Pack sizes

How to pick a Lincoln pack size, 250ml to 4 liter

Choosing a Lincoln pack size starts with how many horses and how much tack you care for. A single rider with one saddle can work through Classic Glycerine Bar Soap in its 250g container for a long time, while a barn with several bridles and saddles will get more use from the 1-liter Neatsfoot Oil Compound.

Washes follow the same logic. Lincoln makes Revitalising Wash in a 4-liter size for regular use across a string, and sprays such as Hair Polish and Sheath Cleaner in 500ml bottles. Small 250ml sprays like Purple Spray and Iodine Solution suit a first-aid shelf where you reach for them occasionally. Neatsfoot Oil and Total Groom sit in the middle of the range for everyday upkeep.

The shelf links below filter by size. Look elsewhere if you want a single bottle for every job, since Lincoln makes each formula for one task and the pack size follows the product.

          Who it's for

Who Lincoln is for: everyday grooming, tack and hoof care

Lincoln suits the rider who wants her barn shelf to cover the basics without a new brand for every task. Heritage Leather Cream handles the tack, Piaffe Mane & Tail Conditioner handles the tail, and the hoof and first-aid shelf fills out the rest.

Seasonal use is a good fit. Lincoln positions Stop The Itch as an early-season precaution for horses that react to fly and midge bites, and Event Salve as a 1kg greasy cream for cross-country horses that Lincoln says is easy to apply and remove.

Look elsewhere if you want a single all-purpose product, a fragrance-free tack line or a vet-prescribed treatment. Lincoln covers the routine care jobs; anything medical belongs with your vet. Browse the full Lincoln shelf to see what suits your barn.

          Questions riders ask

          Lincoln FAQ

What does Lincoln make for horses?

Lincoln makes grooming products such as shampoos, washes and hair polish, leather care such as creams, balsam and neatsfoot oil, and hoof and first-aid items such as hoof ointments, dressings and sprays. Browse the full Lincoln shelf to see how the line fits together.

How do I clean leather tack with Lincoln products?

Lincoln sells Total Tack as a cleaner with glycerine that needs no water, and Heritage Leather Cream as an all-in-one cleaning and polishing treatment. Follow the directions on the pack for each one, then shop the Lincoln leather care shelf.

Which Lincoln shampoo is for an itchy horse?

Lincoln describes Itchy Switchy SOS Shampoo as an anti-rub cleanser for regular use, and Medicated Shampoo as an antibacterial wash for itchy, irritated skin. If the itching is severe or the skin looks broken, call your vet, then compare the Lincoln grooming shelf.

Can I use Lincoln first-aid products instead of calling my vet?

Lincoln labels its sprays, creams and ointments for minor cuts, abrasions and skin irritation, and gives directions on each pack. Deep wounds, swelling or lameness need your vet, so call first and browse the Lincoln hoof and first-aid shelf for the barn kit.
