Novocontact bits are designed to create a unique oval shape which widens the contact surface on the tongue while the rider keeps a steady contact. As the rider gives a rein aid the mouthpiece turns forward and the contact surface gets narrower, ensuring more precise and effective communication. Novocontact bits improve the interaction between horse and rider for a better contact and acceptance of the bit. This Novocontact Weymouth features a 16mm mouthpiece, as well as 13cm shanks including 7cm at the lower shanks. It is intended to encourage the horse to confidently step forward to the bit and especially recommended for horses that tend to pull up their tongue. Higher poll pressure is exerted due to the longer cheeks, causing the leverage effect to be slightly delayed. Additionally, the mouthpiece is made of Sensogan. The Sensogan mouthpiece is easy to clean and results in a consistent flow of saliva promoting bit acceptance.
