Turnouts
Saxon Defiant turnout blankets come in two ripstop weights, 600D and 1200D, so one line covers a fall sheet and a deep-winter blanket. The 600D Defiant 600D Standard Neck Lite carries 0g of fill for mild days and layering, the Defiant 1200D Combo Neck Medium adds 220g of polyfill, and the Defiant 1200D Combo Neck Heavy steps up to 300g, both with a fully incorporated neck cover.
The 1200D blankets pair a ripstop weave, which Saxon lists as limiting the spread of tears, with a waterproof and breathable outer, twin chest closures, low cross surcingles, leg straps and a standard tail flap. Riders tell us these blankets last: one has worn a 1200D Standard for 3 years, and another has kept a Saxon turnout going for about 10. Saxon half chaps come in two synthetic styles, Equileather and Syntovia, each with elastic panels and a zipper for a snug fit over a paddock boot. The Equileather Half Chaps are a basic everyday half chap in synthetic material with elastic panels and a back zipper for easy on and off. The Syntovia Half Chaps are polyurethane synthetic leather with a full-length zipper and a full elastic panel for a sleek look.
Saxon lists Syntovia as easy to clean and tough wearing, so a quick wipe keeps them looking polished, and lists Equileather for all four seasons. The Knee Patch Pull On Schooling Breeches Beige add a self knee patch and a stretchy sock bottom that sits neatly under tall boots, and the Adjustable Waist Jodhpurs Beige add an adjustable waist, an optional cuff bottom, belt loops hidden inside the pocket and a false fly front.
