This bit features 5 1/2" Tom Thumb shanks and a single joint mouthpiece.

The shanks on this bit act with a leverage action on the poll. The single joint mouth creates a nutcracker action on the soft palate. Considered a fairly strong bit, this should only be used by experienced riders with quiet hands.
