Dapplebay makes saddle pads, 1/4 zip riding shirts, breeches and tights in its own prints, so horse and rider can match from head to hoof. Founder Leah Kaufmann designs every print in house, and each collection pairs a saddle pad with tops, fly veils and boots for women, kids and their horses.

The Dapplebay 1/4 Zip is our customers' favorite: a lightweight ice-feel fabric, a tab collar and a longer length made for staying tucked into breeches. The Grace adds patterned side panels and a mesh yoke, in each season's prints.

Who makes Dapplebay?

Dapplebay was started in 2011 by Leah Kaufmann, a designer and rider, after a t-shirt she designed for eventers took off. She rides and owns off-track Thoroughbreds.

What is a Dapplebay matching set?

A Dapplebay collection is one print for you and your horse, so a riding top, saddle pad, fly veil and boots can match from head to hoof.

What size Dapplebay saddle pad do I need?

Dapplebay jump pads come in pony for 14 to 16 inch saddles, cob for 16 to 17 inch saddles and horse for 17 inch saddles and up. Match the shape too: dressage, jump or western.

Does Dapplebay make clothes for kids?

Yes. Dapplebay makes kids' riding tops, full seat tights, tees and sweatshirts, many in the same prints as the adult styles.

How do Dapplebay riding tops fit?

About the Brand

Who makes Dapplebay: started with one t-shirt in 2011

Dapplebay began in 2011, when designer and rider Leah Kaufmann posted a t-shirt she had made for eventers and riders asked for more. She ran it alongside a career at a marketing agency, then took it full time as it grew fast in 2020.

Today Dapplebay makes riding tops, breeches, sweatshirts and accessories, and saddle pads, fly veils and boots in prints that match. Kaufmann rides and owns two off-track Thoroughbreds.
