What riders say about Horseware fly sheets and masks
Verified-buyer reviews of Horseware fly sheets, masks and boots, quoted word for word.
★★★★★
This is my second one to have as a backup. This is beautiful. It’s just a perfect weight for a horse. It gets super hot for these in between weather changes. For this deal, it is so much more than I expected, and I love the silky front on the chest they must have in the colors are beautiful
★★★★★
We purchased three of these fly sheets and they do not disappoint. Extremely well made and tough. Product arrived when they said it would. We'll definitely do business again with this site.
★★★★★
This mask is well made, but I had to pass it along to a friend with a pony. I purchased a cob for my horse because he keeps shaking off his large Amigo fly mask, but this one was unfortunately too small. Horseware products are durable, and I would order it again (in a "horse" size).
★★★★★
Fantastic deal on good quality fly boots that don't twist or fall, and keep my horse from stamping.
★★★★★
The fit is perfect and it helps keep the flies off my horses legs. The soft feel is very gentle on his legs and does not cause sores.
★★★★★
Great product with a great price! Love Rambo Optimo for large shouldered horses!

Horseware fly sheets: Amigo, Rambo and Newmarket compared
Amigo, Rambo and Horseware Newmarket each make a mesh fly sheet for full-size horses in 66 to 87 inch sizes. Fabric and neck cover set them apart: Amigo Bug Rug is 100 percent polyester mesh at 65 percent UV protection, Newmarket is a woven polyester mesh in a plaid, and Rambo Protector is polyester and nylon mesh, also at 65 percent UV.
Pick the neck cover first. Amigo Integrated Fly Sheet and Rambo Protector Integrated have the neck attached, Amigo Bug Rug Plus and Newmarket Plus Fly Sheet come with a removable neck cover or hood, and the plain Bug Rug and Newmarket Fly Sheet take a hood sold separately. For a sun-sensitive coat, Amigo Ripstop Hoody is the 90 percent UV choice with a full hoodie built in. For a horse that rips sheets, Rambo Protector Integrated and Protector FieldSafe use a self-repairing mesh.
| Line | Fabric | UV protection | Neck cover | Sizes in inches |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amigo Bug Rug | 100% polyester mesh | 65% | Hood sold separately | 66 to 84 |
| Amigo Bug Rug Plus | 100% polyester mesh | Not stated | Removable | 66 to 84 |
| Amigo Integrated Fly Sheet | 100% polyester mesh | 60% | Attached | 66 to 87 |

| Rambo Protector Integrated | Self-repairing mesh | 65% | Attached | 66 to 87 |
Fly masks, fly boots and ear nets for horses
Horseware masks, fly boots and ear nets are sized by head or leg rather than in inches. Fly masks come with ears or without: Rambo Fly Mask Plus and Amigo Fly Mask are durable textilene with fleece edging, Newmarket masks are textilene with cotton edges at 65 percent UV protection, and EquiFit Essential Fly Mask is a lycra mask rated UPF 50+ with fine mesh around the eyes and ears. Sizes run Small Pony, Pony, Cob and Horse, so measure the head before you choose.
Fly boots keep flies off the legs: Amigo Flyboots are polyester airmesh with fleece edging that keeps flies from getting under the boot, Newmarket Fly Boots are 65 percent UV protective and match the Newmarket sheets, and Rambo Tech-Fit Flyboot has a funnel shape with UV protection. Check each listing, because some are sold as pairs and some as sets of four. For ears, Rambo Air Tech Ear Net is air mesh with stretchy lycra ears, Newmarket Ear Net is crochet cotton, Horseware Silent Ear Net has noise-suppressing ears, and EquiFit SilentFit Ear Bonnet buffers sound with foam-lined ears.
EquiFit ear bonnets, masks and ear plugs are on the EquiFit page.

Stable sheets, summer sheets and coolers from Horseware
Not every Horseware sheet is a bug sheet, and riders search for stable sheets by line name: Rambo Stable Sheet is a breathable 1000D ripstop with an anti-static, anti-bacterial embossed lining, Rambo Optimo Stable Sheet adds an adjustable front piece that prevents rubbing and a padded wither, Amigo Polyester Stable Sheet is ring-spun brushed polyester with double front closures, and Mio Stable Sheet is a breathable, not waterproof cut with a double front closure.
For summer days that are not all about flies, Amigo Summer Sheet Plus is a water-resistant, lightweight polyester ripstop that protects the coat from UV, and Rambo Optimo Supreme Summer Sheet is a polycotton with 40 percent cotton blend and 65 percent UV protection. Coolers dry a sweaty horse after work: Amigo Jersey Cooler is brushed, moisture-wicking polyester, Net Cooler is a texturized polyester net that comes with a storage and wash bag, and AirNet Cooler is a summer-weight 3D mesh. Rambo Summer Series is the waterproof option, a softshell top with mesh sides, a detachable hood and a 100 g liner.

Horseware fly sheet sizing: how to measure your horse
Horseware fly sheets are sized in inches. Horseware’s own size chart says to measure with a soft tape from the center of the chest (point A), across the shoulder, to the center of the tail (point B), then take off 4 inches and choose that size from the chart. A horse that measures 76 inches takes a size 72.
Sheets come in 3 inch steps, with a few lines offered in 2 inch steps for stock horse cuts. Hoods and neck covers are sized separately in Small, Medium, Large and X Large, so check the hood chart on the product page when you buy a hood alone. The table lists the size run for each line as Horseware offers it.
| Line | Sizes in inches | Cut |
|---|---|---|
| Amigo Bug Rug and Bug Rug Plus | 66 to 84 | Full-size horse |
| Amigo Integrated Fly Sheet | 66 to 87 | Full-size horse |
| Amigo Bug Rug XL Plus | 69 to 90 | Wider, more broadly built horses |
| Amigo Bug Rug Stock Horse Plus | 68 to 82 | Stock horse body types |
| Horseware Newmarket Fly Sheet and Plus | 66 to 84 | Full-size horse |
| Horseware Newmarket Quarter Horse Plus | 68 to 82 | Cut for stock horses |
| Rambo Protector | 66 to 87 | Full-size horse |
| Rambo Hoody | 66 to 87 | Full-size horse, integrated hood |
| Amigo Pony Bug Rug and Pony Bug Rug Plus | 45 to 69 | Pony proportions |
| Horseware Newmarket Pony Plus Fly Sheet | 45 to 69 | Pony proportions |
| Rambo Pony Hoody | 45 to 66 | Pony, integrated hood |
| Mio Fly Rug | 45 to 69 | Pony, fixed hood |
| Amigo Petite Bug Rug | 33 to 48 | Petite equine |
Pony, petite, stock horse and XL fly sheets
Smaller and broader horses are covered by their own cuts instead of a full-size sheet in a small size. For ponies, Amigo Pony Bug Rug and Pony Bug Rug Plus, Newmarket Pony Plus Fly Sheet and Mio Fly Rug run 45 to 69 inches, Rambo Pony Hoody runs 45 to 66, and Amigo Petite Bug Rug starts at 33 inches for petite equines. Mio Fly Rug has a fixed hood, and Rambo Pony Hoody is an integrated hood at 90 percent UV protection.
Stock horse and quarter horse types have their own proportions: Amigo Bug Rug Stock Horse Plus and Newmarket Quarter Horse Plus are cut for stock horse body types in sizes 68 to 82, and Amigo Bug Rug XL Plus is sized for wider, more broadly built horses from 69 to 90 inches. If your horse is between a full-size and an XL, the cut matters more than the number on the tag.
Shop pony sizes through the size 45 listing, or see Mio for the fixed-hood pony fly sheet.
