Worth every penny! Wyoming winters are no joke, and these boots keep me dry & warm. Didn’t need much “break in”. I ride in an English saddle, they fit well in stirrups.
These are fully fleece lined and very toasty -- perfect for winter riding. The velcro side straps make them very customizable in terms of calf width, which I appreciate since I have extra narrow calves, and the boots are tall enough to keep out drafts. The rubber bottoms are not clunky and are easy to hose off. The soft uppers don't offer firm ankle support, but that's about the only consideration I'd mention. I love them for cold weather trail riding.

Tall riding boots: which line is right for you
Pick by how you ride first, then by calf width. Tredstep Medici II, Sirani and Donatello III are the show-ring leather boots with the most calf and height options, Horze Rover, Duvall and Genève cover schooling and shows, and Equinavia Karolina, Karina and Kassi add leather and synthetic field and dress boots in three calf widths.
For winter, Horze Aspen, Utah and Polar, B Vertigo Cetus and Equinavia Ari are lined or waterproof. Horze Chester and Morgan are rubber and neoprene boots built for barn work and everyday riding, and they are easy to clean.

Tall boot sizing: calf, height and foot size
Measure two numbers before you order: the widest part of your calf and the height from the floor to the bend behind your knee, over the breeches and socks you ride in. Read both across the chart for your size and choose the calf width first.
Riders in reviews often mention calf fit, and boots from different brands fit differently, so go by the chart for the exact boot rather than your usual size. The charts below are the vendors' own, in the units each vendor uses.
