This bit features traditional Western Dee cheeks and a Myler MB 01T twisted comfort snaffle. It is Myler level 1 bit.
The MB 01 rotates onto the tongue to apply concentrated tongue pressure at the center barrel, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. However, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and allows for each side of the bit to be used independently. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. The twist makes this bit more severe than a smooth MB 01
The Western Dee without Hooks is a stainless steel ring with a fixed attachment to the mouthpiece. This traditional cheek style keeps the mouthpiece from draping on the tongue, providing a more direct signal than the loose ring. The straight side of the ring will not pull through the mouth and does not pinch.
